The scientific name is Hibiscus sinensis; it belongs to the mallow family. Hibiscus flower is classified as a flowering plant and they are annual as well as perennial plants. Hibiscus has different colours; yellow, salmon pink multi-coloured, double blossom and red. Red colour is the most common flower in Nigeria. They can be classified into shrubs, herbs or small trees. and are popularly known in some countries as chinese hibiscus or china rose.
Hibiscus flower in its dry form is called “Zobo” leaf in Nigeria. There are hundreds of species of hibiscus which exist in different parts of the world.
FARMING HIBISCUS
