It has been observed that there is urgent need for exporters of various goods in the country to come together to have a formidable front and pool resources together to advance their businesses. To this end, the Ecobank Nigeria Plc is collaborating with the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), to enable members of the Manufactures Association of Nigeria, Association of Solid Minerals Exporters, Oyo State Shippers Association and ECOWAS Human Rights Farmers Association to secure soft loans with very low interest rates. This was part of the communique issued at the end of a one day workshop organised by the Oyo State Shippers Association and Ecobank Nigeria Plc, recently in Ibadan, to sensitise Nigerian exporters on the partnership. As part of the communique, the Federal Government was urged to dedicate specific seaports and dry ports for exportation of locally produced goods in Nigeria, saying that “such a step would make export of made-in-Nigeria” goods less cumbersome. Also, it was suggested that federal, state and local governments should ensure that “government sponsors and provides support and incentives for agricultural development to practising farmers and exporters instead of armchair and briefcase carrying farmers.” Source: tribune.com.ng/index.php/tribune-business/48830-ecobank-partners-exporters-to-promote-business
