Soap can be defined as a cleansing product created through the chemical process of combining a fat or natural oil with an alkali (such as wood ashes or lye) under controlled conditions, which could be in the form of bar soap or detergent.
Cosmetics are substances or products used to enhance or make the face or body more attractive, or change the way it looks. They include hair dyes, perfumes, cologne, skin-care creams, skin cleansers and body lotions, shampoo and conditioner, hairstyling products (gel, hair spray, etc.), makeup.
Cosmetics applied to the face to enhance its appearance are often called makeup. Common make-up items include: lipstick ,mascara, eye shadow, foundation.
The sales and export of these products is a good business to invest in as the products are used daily all around the world, resulting in continuous demand for them. The use of soap and cosmetics is not limited to a region or race.
And in an era where makeup is highly trending, the high profit and returns on investment on the business cannot be overemphasized.
Global market for Soap and Cosmetics
Soap and cosmetics can be exported to Europe and within Africa as well. Nigeria now uses some modern technologies to produce cosmetics and soaps that are of good quality and a lot of neighboring countries have no cosmetics or soap at all, so this can be a great opportunity for export.
The numerous benefits of our locally produced native soap for bathing and beautification is also an added advantage for investors. The potent ingredients that are virtually organic is a major reason for constant demand for our products.
Product Source
The process of making the products is not tedious, the equipment needed are also easy to get and the ingredients can be easily sourced too. Aside making the products, investors can buy already made products and resell to other countries for huge profits.
Once you are able to establish customers abroad whether acquaintances and family in the diaspora, through referrals or by online advert, (thankfully it's an internet age now), you can be sure of huge and steady income as long as you ensure quality and consistent supply.
Business Cost
The capital required to start exporting soap and cosmetics is not intensive, what is required is knowledge, proper documentation, good and quality products and consistency.
