For Nigeria to attain its full potentials there is need to make export the bedrock of any sustainable development. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The Thy Global Investment Limited, Ismail AbdulAzees who made the assertion at a workshop in his office, Ewupe, Ota, Ogun State on ‘’New Nigeria: The Roles, Right and Responsibility of exporters in National Rebirth’’, ascribed the challenges of various degrees on export business.
AbdulAzeez, a professional trainer on commodity export business said the nation must realize that exporters is better equipped on the knowledge of the market to ensure the right foundation and application are put in place in all aspects of the business. He therefore called on exporters to continuously engage in training and development programmes in order to enhance competence and professionalism.
Speaking further, AbdulAzeez urged all exporters to also live by the ethics of the business. He said, the workshop aside of being a fulfillment of mandatory requirements and responsibility, also serve as a forum for reminding exporters of the need to maintain high professional ethics in their business undertakings. He appealed to fresh exporters to expand beyond oil exportation.
While urging exporters to develop a new mindset and conscious efforts to achieve national re-birth through export, AbdulAzeez said, it is the responsibility of professional exporters in Nigeria to improve more on exportation of agricultural commodity.
In a relative development, the expert said Africa remains the hope of the world in terms of food supply and productivity. ‘’Agricultural commodity and exportation should no longer be viewed as a developmental exercise but rather as a business that is capable of generating growth.
